Where Your Money Goes

When you donate to Komen Greater NYC, your money saves lives. Every dollar you give is committed to saving lives in our communities and eradicating breast cancer as a life-threatening disease our goal is to achieve a world without breast cancer.

Out of every dollar you give us, 75 cents goes to:

  • Address the community breast health needs of underserved and at-risk populations in New York City, Long Island, Westchester and Rockland Counties.
  • Support essential local screening, treatment, education, and support service programs.
  • Invest in crucial peer-reviewed national breast cancer research programs to find the cures.

Up to 75 percent of our net revenue is used to support local breast health programs and at least 25 percent funds peer-reviewed national and local clinical research. In 2013, your money is being spent as follows:

Thanks to your support, we are awarding $2.9 million in 2013:

  • $2.12 million to support 31 community-based breast health programs providing education, outreach, screening, treatment, and support services to underserved populations.>
  • $700,000 to support national breast cancer research projects.
  • $50,000 for clinical research enrollment, increasing the capacity of local researchers to enroll women in breast cancer clinical trials.
  • $25,000 in small grants and pilot educational programs.
