Grants eManagement System Applicant User Guide
The Grants eManagement System (GeMS) is a web based grant management system for Affiliates of Susan G. Komen for the Cure to use to receive, review, and manage community grant applications. The system will allow Affiliate staff more time to partner with and assist applicants and grantees throughout the grant process. Applicants should refer to this User Guide, created by Susan G. Komen for the Cure, for more information on how to access GeMS and complete an application.

This searchable database of cancer control interventions and program materials is designed to provide program planners and public health practitioners easy and immediate access to research-tested materials.

Cancer Control P.L.A.N.E.T.
This portal provides access to Web-based resources that can assist in: assessing the cancer and/or risk factor burden within a given state, identifying potential partner organizations that may already be working with high-risk populations, understanding the current research findings and recommendations, accessing and downloading evidence-based programs and products, and finding guidelines for planning and evaluating your program.

Foundation Center's Proposal Writing Short Course
The Foundation Center offers a short online course on proposal writing that covers gathering background information, the components of a proposal, the executive summary, statement of need, project description, budget, organizational information, and letter proposal.

W.K. Kellogg Foundation Evaluation Handbook
The W.K.Kellogg Foundation believes that evaluation is useful to document impact and demonstrate accountability and that evaluation should also lead to more effective programs, greater learning opportunities, and better knowledge of what works. This handbook provides a framework for thinking about evaluation as a relevant and useful program tool and is designed to encourage dialogue about the role evaluation should play at the project level.

Community Health Worker Programs Materials
This link takes you to two handbooks created by the National Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program (NBCCEDP). The first handbook is online and focuses on the development and management of community health programs. The second handbook is available on request and was developed to expand existing community breast health worker programs to include breast and cervical cancer screening promotion and is used to train community health workers. Both materials have a comprehensive list of references and resources for further reading.

The Community Guide
The Community Guide provides systematic reviews of interventions in breast cancer screening, prevention, and informed decision making. It aims to answer questions on effective programs and policies, fitting the right intervention with the right community, and the costs and returns on investment of effective interventions.

Smart Budget Tool
The Smart Budget Tool was created to help Community Breast Health applicants determine the primary funding category and focus of their proposed program, which must be identified on all submitted applications.  This tool can be especially helpful for programs that provide more than one type of service, and can be used as a preparatory exercise for the actual application budget.  This is not meant to replace the budget form provided in the RFA; this is a tool for applicants, to aid in determining the program funding focus (Education and Outreach; Screening Coordination; or Support and Treatment).
