City in Pink

On Tuesday, September 7th, the New York City skyline will turn pink for City in Pink — honoring breast cancer survivors, remembering those who have lost their lives to the disease, and kicking off the week leading up to the 20th annual Komen New York City Race for the CureŽ. This year 27 buildings and stores and six websites will light up the city in a rosy glow during Race Week.

Since 1994, New York City buildings and stores have shown their commitment to breast cancer awareness and Komen Greater NYC by illuminating their sites with pink lights during Race week. Companies and organizations also joined Virtual City in Pink several years ago — “lighting up” their websites in pink as part of the celebration.

City in Pink will commence with an invitation-only reception hosted by Macy’s. Buildings and stores participating in the 2010 City in Pink include:

  • “21” Club
