The Komen Greater NYC Race for the Cure is a huge success thanks to our Race teams, which run the gamut from huge corporate, hospital and school teams to small family and personal teams — honoring someone who has survived or in memory of someone who succumbed to breast cancer.
There were 794 Race teams in 2012.
Teams are the backbone of the Race. They not only contribute to the event’s spirit and sense of community, but also provide a significant source of revenue source by raising large amounts of pledge dollars.
If you had a team in 2012, it’s never too early to start contacting members for this year’s Race.
Consider forming a team in 2013. All you need to do is come up with a name and a team captain and get five (5) people to join by Race Day, Sunday, September 8, 2013.
Team registration opens on May 1, 2013, so get ahead of the game by planning your team now.
Komen merchandise makes a powerful statement. Give a gift or share information about breast health and breast cancer.
