2008 Tickled Pink! video, produced by Teens for the Cure, edited by Daniel Blanco.
More than 375 people attended the 2008 Tickled Pink! on Friday, April 4, 2008. This evening to remember was sponsored by Teens for the Cure and raised over $150,000 for Komen Greater NYC programs.
Teens for the Cure and Tickled Pink! were created and founded by Iris Dankner and her daughter Niki. The organization is made up of high school and college students from the New York metropolitan area — young women whose lives have been touched by breast cancer.
The evening was held at the Diane von Furstenberg Studio. The designer has been a supporter of the event since its inception. Teens and their mothers got to shop, see the latest DVF fashions and learn about breast cancer. The highlight, as always, was the fashion show. The runway was shared by von Furstenberg models and survivor models and their family members.
The evening’s many highlights included:
- The survivor models and their daughters, sons, sisters and mothers.
- The Teen for the Cure video, produced by the Teens and edited by Daniel Blanco and featuring remarks from Iris and Niki Dankner, members of the benefit committee, and stars like Alec Baldwin, Ashlee Simpson, Judge Judy Sheindlin, Maury Povich and CBS 2 anchor and Komen Greater NYC board member Maurice DuBois.
- Bright and bubbly emcee Katie McGee of CBS 2.
- Brassy Danielle Monaro of Z100 who rocked the introduction of the Teens for the Cure video and was the night’s top raffle ticket seller.
- The tough, persuasive auction master Donny Deutsch of CNBC’s The Big Idea with Donny Deutsch, who charmed the crowd into providing top bids for the live auction items.
- The gorgeous and willowy DVF models in their fantastic summer fashions.
- And the inspirational survivors and their family members who owned the runway for the night in sexy, summery DVF fashions.
