Circle of Hope® is a new recognition program for major benefactors of the Greater New York City Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Through their generosity, Circle of Hope members enable the Affiliate to increase funding for breast cancer education, screening and treatment programs for uninsured and under-insured members of our community. With cuts to the New York State Cancer Services Program reducing the number of women who can be screened and cared for this year, the assistance this program provides is more important than ever.
Early detection is key to beating breast cancer. When the disease is diagnosed in its earliest stages, the five-year survival rate is over 95 percent. Unfortunately, not all of our family, friends and neighbors can afford the proper screening and care, nor does everyone have access to the same information that would help level the playing field and make everyone aware of their risks and warning signs. Circle of Hope donations help everyone have the same chance to fight this disease.
Individuals, families, (family) foundations, and others are invited to become Circle of Hope members with a minimum cumulative contribution of $25,000 during one calendar year. A gift of $25,000 allows Komen Greater NYC to make grants to provide breast health education, screening and treatment to the medically underserved in the five boroughs of New York City, on Long Island, and in Rockland and Westchester Counties.
Komen Greater NYC will gratefully acknowledge members of the Circle of Hope by providing them with benefits, including:
