What a difference a year makes!
Give me a lemon, I'll add a little something and turn it into lemonade. 2010 started off with a door slamming on a job I loved -- and a door opening onto my new commitment to yoga. My breast cancer journey certainly started with a full-body slam 4 years ago, but I have taken that journey down a very rewarding path of supporting other women who are facing their own cancer battle.
The annual Komen NYC Race for the Cure is an opportunity to make a difference in the search to find a cure and prevention for breast cancer. This year, Komen celebrates its 20th anniversary, and I hope you'll join me in celebrating the important work Komen has done to save lives.
On Sunday, September 12th, Team Lisa will walk the walk for the 5th year in a row. Last year, with your support, we raised over $12,000. This year, we are working towards a $15,000 team contribution!
Monies raised are used to fund education, screening, coordination and treatment programs for underserved women in the NY metropolitan area, as well as for local and national clinical research.
Please join me in supporting Komen Greater NYC and the work they do. Walk with us on September 12th! Or make a donation by clicking the "Support Lisa" or "make a gift" link to get to my donation page. The money we raise together makes a difference.
