Celebrating Bim!
Mother, what can I say? You were someone who always thought of other
people first. You were so positive, loving,hard working, and always
instilled the same in us. You were just 3 days shy of turning 58
years old, and, although we would have loved to see you live to double
that age, unfortunately, God had other plans for you. Having said
that, no one can say that you didn’t live a full and complete
life. You were married to a wonderful man, our father, for over 35
years. You were able to see all three of your kids grow up, graduate
college and get married. Including your daughter who married the only
person that you wanted to see her end up with, aka your golden boy.
Best of all, you were able to be there for the birth of your three
grandchildren. Words cannot express what you mean to us and everyone
in this room. You were, and will always be, an inspiration,a positive
and strong role model who will never be forgotten. You will be
remembered whenever Milan gets SO excited to see a friend or family
member, each time Simran cares for someone who is sad or hurt, and
every time Dillon laughs or hugs someone.
It is clear that our Mom truly had an amazing gift of making everyone
she met feel so special. She has clearly touched a lot of people.
However, what many of you might not realize, is just how much all of
you touched her, how all of your friendships and gestures helped her
through what she called “the most difficult journey, that has
changed her life in every way.” Throughout the pages of her
poignant book, Fear Love and Faith, Mom continually speaks of how her
family and friends have helped her get through each anxiety-ridden day
and those all too many self doubting moments. She speaks in great
detail of how she looked forward to her long, comforting chats with her
sisters, how her family,including her amazing sister-in-laws, would
accompany her to each chemotherapy session and then her daily radiation
treatments. She greatly appreciated all those pizza nights, get well
cards, walks and dinners…it is these supportive and wonderful
friends who she said “showed [her] the value of true
friendship.”
We love and miss you very much, but we know that you will always be
looking down upon us, watching us and your grandchildren grow up and
become everything that you wanted us, and them, to become. We know
that you are now in peace with your parents and your sister, Aunty
Usha, who just passed away last Saturday. We would like to tell the
both of you how much we love you and miss you, but know that a piece of
both of you live in our hearts always.
