I thought long and hard about the motivation behind 'igniting' my own fundraising campaign with Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
No, I do not have breast cancer.
No, I did not survive breast cancer.
No, I have not been survived by a loved one who has suffered through the effects of breast cancer.
I guess you can say I've been lucky.
That might be true of this moment, but as we know, our lives can change in an instant. My world as I know it can come crashing down on me as it has for so many others.
My so-called luck doesn't take away from the fact that there are, indeed, women... who suffer, families... who suffer and friends... who suffer; due to the affects of breast cancer.
I am a woman. My mother, my grandmothers, aunts, cousins are all at risk because they simply were born female (and proud of it, might I add). Something we can not control.
BUT this, I can control. I can take action for all future, mothers, grandmothers, aunts and daughters of the world. And to think it only took the click of a mouse.
Please join me, anything you can give helps & don't forget to sign the guestbook :)
